Since the end of 2023, I've been learning about the truth of God's character. That He's nonviolent, for example; He doesn't kill. All of those times that God is said to have killed people were due to misunderstandings of God's character and how His justice system works. With how most, if not all of our Bibles read, it seems very clear that God will kill you or generally punish you if you get on His bad side or do wrong. That's Satan's justice system, which states that if you sin, you or something else must die, which was why the Israelites had to do animal sacrifices for centuries before Jesus came and died for us, not because that was God's system of justice, but because we inherited Satan's justice system when Adam and Eve sinned, and this was the only way that we would believe that God would forgive us, because we projected Satan's justice system onto Him, which also warped our understanding of His character, even down to why Jesus died on the cross. Jesus didn't die on the cross because His Father needed Him to die, but because we wouldn't believe that that God would forgive us unless something died in our place, so we killed an innocent man: Jesus.
Once you understand that, it changes the Bible completely. If God never required sacrifices, and He doesn't kill, then what exactly happened in situations like the one where two of Judah's sons were killed by God for doing wrong? What about the plagues in Egypt? What about the Assyrians? What about Ananias and Sapphira?
There are articles that actually talk about what happened in various situations. Here are some to get started:
